Implanted Technology? Robot Surgeons? What the Future.

Recently I watched a video by Tech Insider called “What The World Will Look Like In 50 Years, According To Tech Experts”. Being a tech enthusiast, this intrigued me. The future of tech is huge and honestly, I do not think we will know what the future will hold until we are almost there. For example, in “Back to the Future” they portrayed 2015 having flying cars and hoverboards as skateboards. Obviously, that has yet to happen five years later.

However, it was interesting to hear from tech experts what they predict the year 2050 will look like. The first notable advancement in future tech is robot surgeons who would have the ability to shadow over surgeries to help surgeons not make any mistake. It is almost like your boss constantly watching over you for any errors. This may be useful or a good idea, as long as it is not distracting for the surgeons. By 2050, robot surgeons will be perfected and will hold no errors in the surgeon room. Though this may sound scary for some, it is important to remember that tech is here to help humanity in the best possible way. Surgery assisted robots will be able to help the surgeon be precise and quick than ever before.

The next possibility of future tech is proximity of tech, which is the closeness of tech and your body. Right now, we mostly hold or wear tech. In 50 years, we may have even closer proximity with tech such as robot pills that can help diagnose a condition or implanted tech into one’s body to help with an impairment that one may have. Tech is going to almost become one with ourselves. Integrating ourselves internally with technology can help humans process faster, diagnose, and improve our daily lives.

In 2020, we have self-driving cars, thanks to Tesla. However, in the year 2050 we may have fully automated cars that will be able to drive from start to finish. Of course, the cars will have a manual mode but if one doesn’t want to drive, one will not have to anymore with full automation. Though Tesla has run into some issues with self-driving cars, such as fatal crashes during the self-driving mode, there is still time to improve the technology that I have faith that there will be no errors one day. Personally, I think that BMW’s model pictured above looks like a pretty fun ride and looks better than Tesla’s sharp -edged truck. But, that’s just a personal opinion!

I have hope for the future of tech and cannot wait to see what the future holds in 2050. Though it can be scary and overwhelmingly for some, it is a good reminder that tech should be embraced and is here to help better our day-to-day lives.

  1. Siera, there is a lot of value in this post! I was very interested and entertained while reading what you had to say. Your media looks great. I especially love the “Back to the Future” hover-board graphic. This really caught my attention and is impressive imagery! It took me back to fan-girling over Marty McFly when I was about five years old and dreaming about where technology will go. 🙂
